Richard D. Littlejohn

d. June 21, 2020

Richard D. Littlejohn Watervliet – Richard D. “Rick” Littlejohn passed away suddenly on June 21, 2020. Rick was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Ann Sheehy Littlejohn and was employed by Albany Memorial Hospital as a Sergeant on the security midnight staff. Rick was the brother of Ryne Littlejohn, Renee (Mark) McNames, Randy Littlejohn, Raymond (Donna) Littlejohn and Patricia (Mario) Longo; brother in-law of Sandra Littlejohn, loving uncle to several nieces and nephews including Sheila (Timothy) Benedetti, Cody Trembly, Cera (Ben) Norris and Rae`an Littlejohn. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Marge Littlejohn, Barbara Collett, Ann (Bob) Fredette and Bryan (Laurel) Sheehy as well as many cousins and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John Littlejohn and several aunts and uncles in the Littlejohn and Sheehy families. Rick was devoted to his family and his loss is heartbreaking. Devotion to his country and our flag were so important to Rick. A lifelong fan of the Grateful Dead, Rick always had time for a road trip to see them perform. Most importantly, Rick was a kind and gentle soul, the kind of person that you do not meet often. If you knew Rick you were blessed. Go out and share a random act of kindness in Rick’s memory. Rick was interred in Memory Gardens with his beloved parents. At Rick’s request, all services were private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, 245 West Houston Street, RM 204 New York, NY 10014, would be appreciated.
