**In Loving Memory of Derek D. (DK) Kennedy**

It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Derek D. Kennedy, affectionately known as DK, who graced this world on March 21, 1983, at 8:39 pm and departed November 14, 2025, at 7:13pm.

Derek was a radiant light, illuminating the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit endeared him to all who crossed his path. Derek was a cherished son, devoted brother, loving father, beloved nephew, caring uncle, and steadfast friend.

He will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Kathleen Kennedy, and his father, Kevin VanNess. He is survived by his siblings, Anthony Ray, Nicole Kennedy, and Jayvanua Williams, as well as his precious children: daughters DJezire and Serenity Kennedy, son Kartier Kennedy, and step- son Kariem Wallace. Derek's heart found a special place with his best friend and the love of his life, Tiffany Odom, and he leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.

While Derek may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. The profound love he shared with us will serve as a lasting testament to the incredible person he was.

He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Derek; your love and light will live on in all of us.

In the words of Derek: " I am the perfect example of what not to do."

We all will continue to remember and exhibit this.
