Dorothy Rose Sekellick

Dorothy Rose Sekellick passed away peacefully at home on December 30th. Daughter of the late William and Anna Fitzenko Sekellick. Dorothy was the loving wife of Salvatore Magnotta.

Dorothy was known for her love of animals, feeding the birds and caring for multiple cats that made daily visits for the delicious meals she provided. She enjoyed travel including Wells Maine, Vermont, Lake George and the Caribbean Islands. An active member of the OC Ski Club, Dorothy also participated in the ski patrol in Lake Placid. She also skied in many European countries including Switzerland, Italy and Austria. Dorothy retired from Matthew Bender in Menands. At home Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her husband and constant companion, Salvatore, spending time with her cherished daughter Joann and her husband Robert and her grandchildren Abbey and Angelo. In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed gardening, Pinterest and QVC. Her pets Chucky, MooMoo, Bumbolina, Bianca and Lucy held a special place in her heart. 

In addition to her husband Dorothy is survived by her cherished daughter Joann (Robert) Rydberg Bennett and son Angelo (Terry) Magnotta, her loving grandchildren Abbey Rose Bennett and Angelo Magnotta; her siblings William (Cynthia) Sekellick, Suzanne Slauer, Joyce (late Peter) Gould and Stephen (late Karen) Sekellick. Dorothy is also survived by her in laws Barbara Sekellick, Rhonda Sekellick, Concetta Magnotta, Anna Testa, Anthony Magnotta as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Daniel and Ted and grandson Robbie; sister-in-law Mary (late Fred) Christopher. 

Family and friends are invited to visit with Dorothy's family on Thursday 4-6 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home LLC. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dorothy's memory to the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave. Menands N.Y. 12204 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
