It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jonathan A. Draper, 36, of Colonie, NY, on Friday, May 16, 2025. Born on November 20, 1988, in Santa Ana, CA, Jonathan's sudden departure has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jonathan is survived by his wife of six years, Gabrielle, and their three beloved children: 6-year-old daughter Lily, and 16-month-old twins, Rain (son) and Violet (daughter). His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he took immense pride in being a father and husband. His love for his children knew no limits, and every moment he spent with them was filled with love and dedication to making their lives full of joy and security.
Jonathan is also survived by his father, Robert Draper, and his mother, Tina Thorn, whom he held in the highest regard. He is further survived by his brother, Jason Draper, his sister-in-law Liz, and their daughters, Harper and Skyler; as well as his sister, Janisse Sudbrock, and her son, Landon. He was a cherished son, brother, and uncle, and he always made sure his family knew how deeply he cared.
Jonathan was a passionate man, with a love for cars, tattoos, and all things that fueled his zest for life. He lived life fast, always moving, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His love for his family was matched only by his hardworking nature. As a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator for IUOE Local 158, Jonathan's work ethic and commitment to his craft were evident to all who knew him. He took pride in his job, always striving to do his best and support those around him.
Jonathan had a heart that was larger than life. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, always putting others before himself. His genuine kindness, sense of humor, and unshakeable loyalty to his loved ones will be remembered with love and admiration.
