Kevin G. Duffey
Watervliet - Kevin G. Duffey, age 68, of Watervliet, passed away on December 8, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Troy, the son of the late Paul T. and Joan (Rancourt) Duffey.
He grew up in Watervliet and attended St. Brigid's, Catholic Central H.S., Siena and RPI. He worked for Norton Company and many other companies making his home in Latham, Vermont, Syracuse, Arizona and finally settled in Jefferson, NY working as a Quality Engineer for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. After retirement he moved back to Watervliet.
Kevin loved getting together with his Watervliet friends, going to the Elks or a day at the races in Saratoga (especially the give-away days). He looked forward to his friends' yearly get together to see a Valley Cats game. He mostly enjoyed watching baseball and football, especially his San Francisco Giants and Miami Dolphins. He followed all his nieces and nephews through high school and college sports, attending many Middlebury College basketball games and UNH football games.
He was an usher at his Church in Jefferson, NY.
He is survived by his siblings, Mike Duffey, Anne and Paul Teta, Colleen and Rod Van Tassel and Paula and Rich Wander. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Dustin, Axel and Ty Teta, Scott and Dana Sicko, Sean, Lauren and Liam Duffey and Sam, Emily and Ben Wander. And he is survived by many cousins.
A Mass of Chirstian Burial will be celebrated for Kevin on Thursday December 14th, 2023 at 12pm in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 2416 7th Avenue Watervliet. Family and friends may visit with Kevin's family from 10am until 11:45am in the church prior to the Mass. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands immediately following the Mass.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Catholic Central High School, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY 12110.
