Thomas J. Grigg - Born in Cohoes on July 16, 1954, passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side on September 29, 2024. Tom was the son of the late Victor J. and Margaret Mary Ryan Grigg and was the loving husband of Colleen M. Grigg. Tom was a lifelong resident of Watervliet and attended Sacred Heart of Mary Elementary School and was a Watervliet High School graduate, Class of 1972. Following graduation Tom worked for Key Bank and Bob Van, then enjoyed a 20-year career with CDTA retiring in 2016. In his retirement Tom and Colleen enjoyed wintering in Florida. Tom traveled several times to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo competition. He was a 52-year member of the AOH in Watervliet. Tom enjoyed dancing at the "Rafters" and meeting friends, sitting on the beach and sailing. Tom enjoyed sitting in his yard, listening to music and relaxing in his hot tub. His favorite car was a 1966 Cadillac Coupe De Ville convertible and drove to Florida, driving along A1A to look at the ocean. Tom was a daredevil on his motorcycle and also owned many VW's. Tom was a New York Giants and Yankees fan and loved to people watch at Downtown Jonnie Browns. He loved being a Papa to Madalynn and Nicholas and will be remembered for his smile and laughter.
Tom was the husband of Colleen Grigg with whom he shared 38 beautiful years. Tom is also survived by his son Bertman (Marcella) Bouchey III and their children Madalynn and Nicholas; his siblings Susan Grigg, James (Connie) Grigg, John (Trish Ellsworth) Grigg, and his favorite sister-in-law Karen (Jeff) MacDougall. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Tom was predeceased by his brother Tim Grigg.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday October 4th in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 25th Street, Watervliet at 10am. Friends are invited to visit with Tom's family on Thursday October 3rd from 3-7 pm in the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home, LLC, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Tom's memory would be appreciated to Tunnel to Towers Foundation 2361 Hylan Boulevard Staten Island, NY 10306.
