A Loving Tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. William R. Welsh Jr. 80 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 8th, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication.

William served proudly in the Army for 4 years. After his service in the Army, he then began working for CDTA where he worked for 30 years. He married the love of his life (Nancy Buckley Welsh) in 1995. They were married until the day of her passing, March 12th, 2021. William enjoyed traveling. He's been on multiple cruises and bus trips. He enjoyed taking photographs of landscapes and nature. William loved his home and enjoyed taking care of his yard most. He was a member of the Church at St. Matthew's Episcopal in Latham, NY. He spent his life showing generosity, warmth, and commitment to family and friends. He was a friend before you even met him.

William is survived by Sons: Brian Welsh (Melissa Thompson) and William Welsh III (Melissa Welsh), Grandchildren: Robert Welsh, Alexis Welsh, and Anthony Welsh, Sister: Carol Blessing, and Pippen, Nancy and William's beloved family cat. He will be missed by his good friend Marilyn Reyes as well as countless friends and loved ones who will miss his presence dearly.

A memorial service was held privately, and a celebration of William's life will happen in the spring where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his wonderful life.

Though William may no longer be with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him. Though his footprint on this earth may not have been huge it will leave a lasting impression. May he rest in peace.
